Research
Annika Capelan’s research interests revolve around sustainability and the green transition, landscapes and multispecies perspectives, as well as ethnographic methods that take relationships and materialities seriously. She is also interested in medical and veterinary anthropology and works with (post)colonial and feminist perspectives as tools to make power, historiography, and unequal conditions visible – but also resistance, care, and possibilities for doing things differently.
Teaching
During the spring of 2026, Annika will be teaching in the Social Work Programme courses SOPA14 Social Work: Social Work as a Research Field, SOPB22 The Individual, Social Interaction and Social Work, SOPB23 Welfare Society, Social Policy and Social Work, SOPA45 Social Work: Perspectives on Social Problems and Interventions, SOPA61 The Organization of Social Work, and SOPA63 Independent Project (Degree Project).
