Film covers the integration of service users in education

A film production is under way about service user participation in education and research in Europe. The resulting film will be screened at the opening of the conference "Social Work Education in Europe: towards 2025", which will be held in Milan, this summer. The School of Social Work at Lund University is involved in organizing the conference thorugh PowerUs, a network that was formed at the initiative of the School of Social Work in Lund. PowerUs is an international network of teachers and researchers from schools of social work and representatives from different service user organizations.

Teachers and representatives from service user organizations in different parts of the world are involved in the film, which is made with the help of the media department at Lund University. Among other things, the film will cover  the spring round of the course Social work as mobilization and entrepreneurship, where aspiring social work students taking a course with students who have been recruited from different service user organizations. During the film festival we were visited by teachers and students from Germany, Switzerland, South Africa and Denmark. The idea is that the film will inspire and provoke thoughts about new pedagogical methods in teaching based on the interaction between the profession and those representing service user organizations.
