Alida completed her work placement within the programme in the Cayman Islands, working at institutions which dealt with addiction and domestic abuse. She and Emma Jonerud, a fellow graduate, received a Minor Field Studies scholarship for traveling to Uganda and gathering material for her bachelor thesis "Young Children's Opportunities for Development and Attachment at an Orphanage in Uganda". As a third activity, at home in Lund, Alida attended International Cafés organized by the School of Social Work.
"I have always been interested in international issues and wanted to complete part of my education abroad, I knew that from the time I applied."
"I have already gotten my first job as a social worker. I start on Monday! In the future, I would like to continue with international social work in some way," said Alida.
The School of Social Work has introduced the CIM as a pilot project at the Faculty of Social Sciences. Hopefully more departments will follow.
