Professor Max Koch's research deals with capitalist restructuring and its impact on social inequality, welfare, employment relations, and the environment. His current work addresses climate change, sustainable welfare, and degrowth/post-growth societies. He is a member of the scientific committee of the 6th International Degrowth Conference in Malmö (21-15 August 2018).
