Innovation in Social Welfare and Human Services, by Marcus Knutagård, lecturer at the School of Social Work, and Rolf Rønning, Professor at the University of Lillehammer, has just been published by Routledge. The new book explores the popular concept of innovation and what it actually means in a health and social welfare context. The authors discuss relevant differences between the private and public sector and nonprofit organisations; they argue that innovation in the welfare sector is not a new concept, and emphasize the importance of innovation that is developed and supported by those working in the organisations.
