I am a doctoral student at the School of Social Work at Lund University, I plan to focus my research on ageing and older adults with a focus on senior centers.
I have a bachelors in Human Rights, a masters in Social Work and Human Rights, and a masters in Public Health Science.
I have had an interest in many different topics throughout my studies, with a masters thesis focusing on service user participation in a local charity organization and another thesis with focus on violence against children and screening instruments used to identify those subjected to violence. In addition to this I have written a report on intimate partner homicide based on three published articles from the research group while at an internship in Gothenburg at VKV (Västra Götaland region's competence center on intimate violence).
Following my academic experience, I worked with the municipality at a senior center within the health promotion and disease prevention unit, which is what has led me to my current topic. Currently I am interested in the conflicts or tensions that exist in relation to health promotion initiatives for older adults. In my upcoming research I plan to have a specific focus on municipality run senior centers in Sweden.
