Teaching
I teach on the BSc in Social Work programme and postgraduate level courses.
Research
In my research, I am interested in bringing feminist theory and theories of social work together. I am particularly interested in how power structures in different ways affect social work practice and the possibility to develop critical methods of antidiscriminatory work within social work organisations.
In my doctoral dissertation I use intersectional analysis to investigate how gender is made in drug abuse treatment and to examine how the formation of gender interplays with the formation of sexuality, class and ethnicity. The dissertation became the basis for exploring intersectionality as a possible tool for a critical reflexive practice in social work, an idea I explored in the book Intersektionalitet i socialt arbete: Teori, reflektion och praxis (2010) . I've worked with several different projects concering the use of physical activity in drug abuse treatment and social services and their work with intimate partner violence.
