Social Work, Power and Intersectionality

Research group at the School of Social Work

The research group Social Work, Power and Intersectionality is a platform for researchers who share a common interest in how power structures influence social work organizations, practices and professionals.

The ways in which, for instance, gender, class and ethnicity/race intersect in maintaining as well as challenging power structures are explored. The research group follows a well-established international critical scholarly tradition, drawing on Marxist, feminist and anti-racist theories.

The group has regular work meetings, where projects are discussed and developed.
