Planning grant to a study of social work and climate change in the North-East region of India

Mörk himmel över nordöstra Indien.

Jan Magnusson at the School of Social Work at Lund University and Manish K Jha at Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) in Mumbai have received a planning grant to establish a research program for the study of social work and climate change in the North-East region of India. The grant was awarded by SASNET.

Although the School of Social Work in Lund has established a research base in the form of its long-standing research on degrowth and climate change activism, this initiative moves more directly into the field of social work practice and climate change.

Through the collaboration with Lund, TISS deepens its engagement in India’s North-East region. The planning process is taken forward in dialogue with civil society organizations and climate activists and by forging new local networks and alliances.

The project activities are hosted at TISS Guwahati Campus in Assam.
